Mysterious Discovery of a Widow and her 3 Children’s Bodies in Kepri: Cause of Death Yet to be Revealed
Residents of Air Kolek, Kelurahan Ranai Kota, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province, were shocked by the discovery of the body of a widow with three children named Dewi Anglina (31) in her rented house on Tuesday (7/1/2025).
The sudden death has caused a stir among the local community.
The discovery of the body began when one of Dewi’s children who is still in junior high and elementary school called out for her mother to take them to school around 06:30 AM.
When her child shouted for her, local residents felt something was amiss and immediately went to Dewi’s rented house.
Natuna Police Chief AKBP Nanang Budi Santosa, through Kasat Reskrim AKP Apridony, confirmed the discovery of the body.
The body was then taken to RSUD Natuna, and the cause of death is still under investigation.
Police conducted a crime scene investigation and have put up police lines at the location.
“We are gathering evidence from the crime scene and have brought in a forensic specialist from Bayangkara Hospital of Kepri to conduct an autopsy,” explained Apridony.
Dewi Anglina’s death has sparked speculation among the residents, with some suspecting foul play.
The police have not issued an official statement regarding the suspected motive behind this death.
Apridony also urged residents not to spread unconfirmed information.
“We urge the public to remain calm and not spread unfounded speculation, as we will soon conduct an investigation,” he concluded.
