In a shocking case of human trafficking, four perpetrators have been arrested for their involvement in the crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The suspects, identified as RA alias A, MRC alias B, MR alias M, and R, were found to have sold two teenage girls, one of whom is still considered a minor. The victims, identified as AMD (17) and MAL (19), were forced into a terrifying situation where they were required to serve 70 clients against their will.

The incident took place on January 3, 2025, at a hotel on Jalan Pakubuwono in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, as revealed by Kanit Reskrim Polsek Metro Kebayoran Baru Kompol Nunu Suparmi on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. The victims, AMD and MAL, were initially offered a job by a friend, leading them to meet with a procurer known as R alias Tobak, who is currently being pursued by the police.

During the meeting, the victims were informed that they had to provide services to 70 clients with a payment of Rp3.5 million. If the number of clients did not reach 70, they would not receive any payment. The procurer set a fee ranging from Rp250,000 to Rp1.5 million, but the victims were only compensated Rp50,000 for each service.

The suspects are currently held in detention at the Kebayoran Baru Metro Police Station. They are facing charges under Article 2 and/or Article 12 of the Indonesian Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of Trafficking in Persons, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
