JAKARTA – The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo showed his support for the search for future athletes by attending the closing ceremony of the Pertamina Student Athletics Championships (SAC) Indonesia 2024-2025 Jakarta Banten Qualifiers at Rawamangun Stadium in Jakarta on Sunday (19//2025). This event marked a significant step towards developing young talents in athletics.

High Participation and Encouragement for Young Athletes

During his speech, Menpora expressed his appreciation for all parties involved in organizing the event, including Pertamina, the Indonesian Athletic Association (PASI), and DBL Indonesia. The Jakarta Banten qualifiers of this major student athletic competition in Indonesia saw the participation of 4,900 young athletes from 520 schools, ranging from elementary to high school levels.

“I believe the enthusiasm for athletics is very high. The participation of 4,900 athletes from 520 schools in Jakarta Banten shows that. I am pleased because these athletes come from elementary to high school levels. Our commitment is to strengthen athletics on the world stage, namely the Asian Games and the Olympics,” said Menpora Dito.

According to Menpora, by identifying young athletic talents from the elementary level through SAC, the potential for developing future athletes can be uncovered. He firmly believes that Indonesian athletics will become stronger on the global multi-event stage in the future.

Collaboration for Athletic Development

Menpora emphasized the importance of collaboration between various stakeholders, including DBL, PASI, local governments, and state-owned enterprises, to support athletic development.
