Israeli Forces Targeted in Jenin Conflict: 7 Soldiers Injured, Israel Plans Full West Bank Closure

– The conflict in Jenin escalated as Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) continued their aggression in the city on the West Bank for the second day of the incursion on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

**IDF Aggression in Jenin**
The IDF’s military aggression, dubbed ‘Operation Iron Wall,’ faced fierce resistance from Palestinian resistance militia groups, sparking a war in the West Bank.

Reports from Hebrew media on Tuesday night revealed details of explosions targeting IDF forces. “A heavy explosive device detonated in the area of Talat al-Ghabz near the Jenin camp. Approximately 7 Israeli soldiers were injured in the explosion, with 4 of them in serious condition,” the report quoted by Khaberni stated on Wednesday.

The injured IDF soldiers from the explosion were airlifted by helicopter to Rambam Hospital.

**Full West Bank Closure**
Amid the escalating conflict, sources cited by Khaberni reported that hundreds of Jerusalem residents received phone calls from Israeli numbers. The calls instructed them to evacuate the neighborhoods in the northern region of Jerusalem on the West Bank.

“The sources reported that the message asked Jerusalem residents and Israeli ID holders to leave the West Bank as it will be fully closed,” the Khaberni report mentioned.

Palestinian sources reported that Israeli occupation forces detained a wounded young man, Ashraf Bahr, along with his father and brother from the Jenin camp. The IDF also seized a house and converted it into a concentration point in Khallet Al-Souha.

At dawn on Wednesday, occupation bulldozers began to pave the way and block the entrance to the Jenin Government Hospital, intentionally destroying roads in and around the city and the Jenin camp.

In light of these developments, Israel is planning to implement a full closure of the West Bank, signaling a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict in the region.
