Hamas Admits Recruiting New Fighters, Israel Unable to Eliminate Resistance Group

In a shocking revelation, the Islamic resistance movement, Hamas, has openly admitted to actively recruiting new fighters into its ranks. A Hamas source disclosed that they have suffered significant losses in the Gaza Strip and are currently receiving requests to join their group. The source boldly stated to Al Arabiya on Thursday (2/1/2025), “Israel cannot eliminate us. We can and will rehabilitate ourselves in the Gaza Strip.”

Media Reports Hamas and PIJ Rising

Recent reports from Israel’s Channel12 Israel have indicated that Hamas has between 20,000 to 32,000 fighters collaborating with the forces of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). The recruitment rate of new fighters by Hamas surpasses neutralization and reduction of combat capabilities. Current data reveals that there are approximately 20,000 to 23,000 fighters operating in various forms and different organizations within the Gaza Strip.

Moreover, there are approximately 9,000 actively organized fighters across the sector, with half of them in the northern division and the other half in the southern division. Additionally, there are between 7,000 to 10,000 additional fighters scattered throughout the Gaza Strip who are not operating in an organized manner, along with around 4,000 fighters from the Al-Quds Brigade, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, and other organizations across Gaza.

Discrepancies in Israeli Military Data

Despite the Israeli military announcing the elimination of 17,000 to 20,000 Hamas and Jihad fighters during the war, discrepancies have emerged in the data over the past 15 months. These discrepancies have raised doubts about the accuracy of the estimates provided by the Israeli military and Netanyahu.

Rising Death Toll in Gaza

The conflict has taken a heavy toll on civilians, with the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reporting over 45,581 deaths and 108,438 injuries from Saturday (7/10/2023) to Thursday (2/1/2025). In Israel, there have been 1,147 reported deaths. The increased casualties highlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.

As the situation continues to escalate, it is crucial for both sides to prioritize dialogue and peaceful resolution to prevent further loss of life and suffering. The complex dynamics of the conflict underscore the urgent need for international intervention and humanitarian assistance to alleviate the plight of civilians caught in the crossfire. Let us hope for a swift and peaceful resolution to bring an end to the cycle of violence and pave the way for lasting peace in the region.
