Jokowi Affirms Good Relationship with Anies-Ahok
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) of Indonesia has clarified that he maintains a good relationship with Anies Baswedan and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok. This comes in response to speculations arising from his absence at a meeting with the former Governors of Jakarta on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
The Reassurance
Despite being the only one absent at the gathering, Jokowi swiftly addressed allegations of strained relations and assured the public that his relationship with Ahok and Anies Baswedan is still positive. “Oh… I’m fine with everyone. I’m fine with Pak Ahok and Pak Anies,” Jokowi stated on Thursday, January 3, 2025, at his residence in Solo, Central Java.
The Explanation
Jokowi explained that his absence was due to personal commitments with his family in Solo, Central Java. “Well, there are also events here, small events,” he shared, shedding light on his schedule conflicting with the meeting of former Jakarta Governors.
The Apology
