The murder of Uswatun Khasanah took place in a hotel in Kediri, East Java, on Sunday, January 19, 2025, around 10:00 pm. An altercation between the suspect and the victim escalated, leading to Rohmad attempting to strangle the mother of two. In a desperate bid to defend herself, the victim struggled, hitting her head on the hotel room floor, causing severe bleeding and loss of consciousness. Director of Criminal Investigation at East Java Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Farman, revealed during a press conference on Monday, January 27, 2025, that the suspect confessed to the deadly choking incident.
Following Uswatun Khasanah’s tragic demise, Rohmad found himself in a state of confusion, contemplating how to dispose of the victim’s remains. The suspect proceeded to cover the victim’s body with a white bed sheet before leaving the hotel premises. He then departed with the victim’s Suzuki Ertiga MPV to retrieve a red suitcase from the victim’s residence in Tulungagung, East Java, around 12:30 am on Monday, January 20, 2025.
Accompanied by his nephew, identified as MAM, Rohmad retrieved the red suitcase along with various items, including a scout rope and ten black and white plastic bags, to bring back to the hotel. Upon their return to the hotel around 1:30 am, the suspect sent MAM home to prepare for his next visit at 5:00 am. Investigators estimate that the suspect spent approximately 3.5 hours mutilating the victim during this time frame, based on their analysis of the events.
