TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – A fatal brawl erupted in front of Mall Bassura in Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Thursday (2/1/2025), claiming the life of a teenager. The incident involved hundreds of people, with a teenager identified as RF (14) losing his life due to a stab wound to the chest. Despite being rushed to Premier Jatinegara Hospital near the scene, he could not be saved.
After the tragic event, RF’s body was taken to the Forensic Installation of the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and aid in the investigation. The body has since been handed over to the family and laid to rest, while the autopsy report, known as Visum et Repertum, has been given to investigators handling the case.
### Police Investigate Suspects
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of East Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Armunanto Hutahean, mentioned that they are still working on identifying the perpetrators based on witness statements at the scene. They are conducting investigations, searching, and questioning witnesses to shed light on the case.

Amateur video recordings captured during the brawl in front of Mall Bassura revealed that two groups of young people attacked each other using knives and throwing firecrackers. Aside from the tragic loss of life, the clash also resulted in the destruction of a civilian’s scooter, which was engulfed in flames.
