He also ensured cooperation in undergoing every legal process and claimed not to harm the state in this case.
Sikap KPK
On the other side of the legal battle, Chairman of the KPK, Setyo Budiyanto, expressed the agency’s readiness to face Hasto in the pretrial hearing. Setyo is optimistic that the KPK can prevail over Hasto, asserting that the suspect designation was made with sufficient evidence. “We have prepared everything. Our team is ready for formal proof,” Setyo revealed at the Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on January 14, 2025. However, he refused to disclose the evidence that would be used in court. Setyo added that the KPK is prepared to fulfill the judge’s request for further material evidence if needed. “The evidence we have is strong enough to prove that Hasto was involved in the bribery case and obstruction of investigation,” he emphasized.
