Bank Pelat Merah Prepares 5 Strategies to Face Global Uncertainty in 2025
In a rapidly changing global economic landscape, uncertainty is predicted to rise significantly by 2025. If not handled properly, Indonesia is expected to bear the brunt of its effects. Particularly in the financial sector, where the value of the rupiah continues to face pressure.
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, also known as BNI, has declared its commitment to starting afresh in 2025 by ensuring sustained performance growth. One of the key focal points for the year includes enhancing Third Party Funds (DPK) and facilitating cheap fund transactions.
Director of BNI, Royke Tumilaar, emphasized the importance of anticipating banking liquidity challenges with measured business strategies to uphold BNI’s performance growth this year. “The forthcoming challenges stemming from global uncertainty are expected to place pressure on the rupiah exchange rate and liquidity. BNI has prepared various strategies to tackle these challenges, including boosting cheap funds through digital banking expansion,” Royke stated in a press release on Thursday (2/1/2024).
There are five primary areas of focus that BNI must optimize this year, as highlighted by Royke. These include Branch Office Transformation, Human Capital Transformation to enhance employee productivity, growth of DPK especially in savings from transactions, strengthening the digital ecosystem to enhance CASA and fee-based income, and continuing credit quality improvements.
“A high level of collaboration is essential to achieve these goals,” Royke emphasized.
BNI is continuously striving to enhance its bank performance sustainably while supporting national economic growth. Royke mentioned that the company’s 2025 strategic plan will align with national development objectives and shareholder aspirations, focusing on improving performance through strategic customer-centric efforts in the Corporate and Consumer segments, selective international network expansion, and increased green financing.
Moreover, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness through digitalization of business processes, including mobile banking usage, is a primary focus for this year. “Through platforms like wondr by BNI and BNIdirect, along with the entire BNI digital ecosystem, we aim to drive CASA and transaction growth to support future performance,” he added.
