Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Assists Flood-Affected Residents in Bandar Lampung
Bandar Lampung, Indonesia – In response to the recent devastating floods that hit Bandar Lampung, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) swiftly took action to provide much-needed assistance to the affected residents. The flood, which occurred on Friday, January 17, 2025, severely impacted two areas in the region, prompting BRI to step in and offer aid to those in need.
Emergency Relief Efforts by BRI
On Monday, January 20, 2025, the local BRI branch in Bandar Lampung distributed essential supplies at the Teluk Betung Selatan Sub-District relief post. They handed out 2,000 boxed meals and 400 cases of bottled mineral water to the affected residents. Additionally, 400 boxed meals and 100 cases of mineral water were delivered to the Way Lunik, Panjang Sub-District relief post. Recognizing the urgent need for assistance, BRI also provided 1,000 boxed meals to the Teluk Betung Selatan Sub-District relief post.

Arief Amirudin, the Regional Operational Head of BRI Bandar Lampung, emphasized the importance of supporting the flood-affected communities during this challenging time. He expressed his hope that the aid provided by BRI would help alleviate the burdens faced by the residents. Arief also highlighted the significance of remaining vigilant in the face of potential further flooding and urged people to take preventive measures to ensure their safety.

The distribution of aid on Monday involved the participation of the Ikatan Wanita BRI (IWABRI), a women’s association affiliated with BRI. Denok Bernadi, the Chairwoman of IWABRI in Lampung, shared her optimism that the assistance would aid in the recovery process for the affected communities. She urged residents to stay alert to the possibility of continued heavy rainfall and to prepare themselves for any potential subsequent flooding.
