Discovery and Recovery of Retired Army General Hendrawan’s Car in Marunda North Jakarta
In a riveting turn of events, a team of divers from the Basarnas Special Group (BSG) made a groundbreaking discovery in the waters of Marunda, Cilincing District, North Jakarta. The retired Army General Hendrawan Ostevan’s car was found overturned in the mud at the KBN Marunda Pier on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 08:55 AM. The vehicle was located approximately 5 meters from the edge of the pier and about 6 meters below the surface of the water.
Timely Rescue Operation
The skilled divers swiftly moved to evacuate the car, utilizing ropes tied to the wheels and chassis of the vehicle. With meticulous precision, the car was lifted to the surface using a crane, a process that took nearly two hours until the vehicle was successfully retrieved from the water’s depths at 10:48 AM. Upon examination, it was evident that the car had sustained significant damage to its body and the windows were shattered.
Desiana Kartika Bahari, the Head of the Jakarta SAR Office, disclosed that no other individuals were found inside the vehicle after a thorough inspection. Following the recovery mission, the car was handed over to the investigative team from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police for further analysis and investigation.
