The Chairman of the West Java DPRD, Buky Wibawa, confirmed that the West Java Provincial Parliament had received a letter from the Chairman of the West Java Provincial Election Commission (KPU) with the reference number 3/PL/02.7-SD/32/2025 dated January 9, 2025. This letter contained the proposal for the validation and appointment of the gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial candidates.
The KPU’s decision, as outlined in document number 3 of 2024, formally declared Dedi Mulyadi and Erwan Setiawan as the chosen candidates for the West Java gubernatorial race for the period of 2025-2030. Following the legal protocols under Republic Act No. 23 of 2014, the DPRD has the authority to propose the appointment and dismissal of governors to the president through the minister for validation and approval.
