Farhan-Erwin Officially Appointed as Mayor and Vice Mayor of Bandung
In a groundbreaking announcement, the Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Kota Bandung officially declared M Farhan-Erwin as the new Mayor and Vice Mayor of Bandung on Thursday, January 9, 2025. This dynamic duo clinched victory in the Wali Kota and Wakil Wali Kota Bandung elections with a staggering 523 thousand votes, surpassing their competitors by a wide margin.
Unveiling the Official Decree
Speaking to the press at Balai Kota Bandung, KPU Kota Bandung Chairman Khoirul Anam confirmed the sealing of the deal. “The official appointment signifies that the candidates, Kang Farhan and Kang Erwin of sequence number 3, have been formally chosen,” he stated. Anam further disclosed that the appointment documents will be handed over to the City Council of Bandung (DPRD Kota Bandung) for the upcoming inauguration ceremony. As per KPU RI regulations, the inauguration is slated for February 10.
Smooth Sailing to Victory
Anam highlighted the absence of any disputes or challenges from other candidate pairs during the Pilkada Kota Bandung elections. “Thankfully, Bandung is among the 40 percent of regions where no objections or disputes were raised,” he remarked. Assuring his support for DPRD Kota Bandung, Anam pledged to assist in preparing the necessary paperwork leading up to the inauguration.
Looking Ahead
Expressing his gratitude for the official appointment, Mayor-elect M Farhan expressed his readiness to embark on this new journey. He eagerly awaits the full council session at DPRD Kota Bandung, the outcome of which will be forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) for the inauguration process. “Today’s announcement by KPU aligns perfectly with our schedule, as we have received the official decree,” Farhan stated. As for the inauguration date, he shared that preparations are underway for the ceremony set to take place on February 10.
Farhan emphasized the importance of collaboration and teamwork with Vice Mayor-elect Erwin in steering Bandung towards a brighter future. “We will work hand in hand, starting right there,” he affirmed. With a clear vision and united efforts, Farhan and Erwin are set to lead Bandung to new heights of progress and prosperity.
