In a recent turn of events, a flood in Grobogan, Central Java, has disrupted train travel in the area, causing inconvenience for passengers. The flood was a result of heavy rain that poured down from Monday night, lasting until early Tuesday morning.

According to Franoto Wibowo, the Manager of Public Relations at PT KAI (Persero) Daop 4 Semarang, the flood has caused the railway tracks between Gubug Station and Karangjati Station in Grobogan to be submerged under 20 cm of water, leading to a temporary closure of the tracks. This disruption has affected several train services passing through the area.
Wibowo mentioned that KAI has deployed dozens of personnel equipped with heavy machinery and various materials to address the flooded area. They are working diligently to clear the tracks of debris carried by the floodwaters, which could potentially impede train travel.
Efforts to Restore Normalcy
The KAI team is working tirelessly to expedite the restoration of the flooded railway tracks to ensure the resumption of train services. Due to the incident, four freight train sets and the Semarang-Blora Jaya passenger train have been held up in their journeys.
Wibowo assured the public that updates on the progress of clearing the flooded tracks will be regularly provided to keep passengers informed. He also conveyed KAI’s apologies for any inconvenience caused and disruptions to train travel due to the flood situation.
