Global Humanitarian Mission: Providing Winter Aid to Al Aqsa

Yayasan Amanah Kemanusiaan Global (AMAL) recently dispatched a team of four individuals on a humanitarian mission known as “Winter Aid” to Jordan and Al Aqsa Mosque from December 14 to 22, 2024. The team comprised Drs. Achmad Setiyaji as the Chairman of the AMAL Board of Trustees, Ust. Ridwan Kamaludin, S.Hum as the Chairman of AMAL Foundation, Maulana Julia Rachma, S.Si as the Operational Manager of AMAL, and Sylmi Pramiana, a loyal donor of AMAL. With a budget of Rp 600,000,000, the team distributed relief packages directly, including groceries, warm meals, cash assistance, and winter supplies.

Day One: Relief Distribution in Jordan

On the first day of the mission, AMAL distributed 100 relief packages and snacks to Palestinian refugees in Jordan. The relief packages, consisting of pasta, rice, spices, nuts, and canned chicken, were warmly received by the displaced Palestinians in Jordan. Ust. Ridwan, the mission leader, expressed that the grocery package provided was sufficient to feed a family for three weeks. The refugees expressed gratitude for the timely assistance during the harsh winter in the refugee camps.

Day Two: Engaging with Palestinian Children

The following day, AMAL visited Al Joufa camp to interact with 200 Palestinian children, providing them with blankets, beanies, and warm meals. Despite the freezing temperatures reaching 4 degrees Celsius, Maulana Julia enthusiastically interacted with and distributed relief packages to the children. Additionally, the team visited Hussein Hospital, a cancer survivor’s specialized hospital where many patients are Palestinian.

Day Three: Continued Support at Al Aqsa

From the courtyard of Al Aqsa Mosque, Achmad Setiyaji conveyed the gratitude of the Palestinian people to all AMAL donors for their unwavering support. He extended prayers for the donors’ prosperity, wishing they could visit Al Aqsa Mosque or participate in future AMAL humanitarian missions. Setiyaji urged donors to continue supporting through AMAL, emphasizing the ongoing and urgent needs of Palestinian refugees in camps.

In conclusion, AMAL’s Winter Aid mission exemplifies the power of humanitarian efforts in providing critical support to vulnerable populations.
