**How to Apply for Assistance When Agricultural Land Fails to Harvest Due to Disasters**
**Bandarlampung, January 20, 2025** – The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has announced that agricultural land that fails to harvest due to natural disasters can apply for assistance.
Deputy III of Emergency Response at BNPB, Lukmansyah, stated in Bandarlampung on Monday that if agricultural land is damaged or fails to harvest, assistance can be requested from the President. He explained that if the request for damaged agricultural land or failed harvest due to natural disasters is approved, the affected agricultural land can receive assistance as compensation.
He further elaborated that there is no compensation for failed planting if it was done less than a month ago. However, compensation can be provided for failed harvests if the planting was done over a month ago. The process for compensation will be simulated through assistance programs.
### **Government Support for Farmers**
Acting Governor of Lampung, Samsudin, also commented on the assistance available for farmers whose land fails to harvest due to natural disasters. He emphasized that food security is the government’s top priority and they are committed to maintaining it. In cases where farmlands are flooded, the government will offer assistance.
One form of support provided to farmers with damaged or failed harvest lands due to natural disasters is the distribution of seeds. This enables farmers to replant on their agricultural land. Additionally, efforts are made to address soil and irrigation issues as part of mitigation strategies to prevent disasters from disrupting the community’s harvest.
By providing assistance and resources to farmers affected by natural disasters, the government aims to support agricultural sustainability and food security for the nation. This initiative showcases the commitment to rebuilding and strengthening farming communities in times of crisis, ensuring a stable and resilient agricultural sector for the future.
