Impact of Academic Demands and Social Media on Mental Health of Nearly 50% of Gen Z in Indonesia

Jakarta – Generation Z is known for being adaptive, tech-savvy, and innovative. However, they also face pressures not experienced by previous generations. The influx of information on social media and mass media coverage can create stress, leading to anxiety and mental health issues among Gen Z individuals. Therefore, mental well-being has become a pressing and relevant issue.

According to the founder of Indonesia Mental Inspirasi, Mohsein Saleh Badegel, nearly 50% of Generation Z in Indonesia are reported to experience mental pressure due to academic demands, work, and social media. This statistic was revealed during the pre-launch event of the book “Street Fighter” in Semarang, Central Java.

Importance of Mental Health Awareness and Emotional Management

Mohsein Saleh emphasized the importance of mental health awareness and emotional management in the modern era. He highlighted that the book “Street Fighter” could serve as an inspiration to help individuals rise above challenges and build stronger mental resilience.

“Street Fighter delivers a message to anyone facing struggles that mental toughness and courage are the keys to facing life,” Mohsein said. He described the book as not just a written work but a reflection of his challenging life journey. The book aims to showcase how life struggles, limitations, and failures can pave the way to success.

The book serves as a reminder that true success begins with oneself, from having the courage to confront fears, manage emotions, and keep moving forward, one small step at a time.
