Investasi Program MBG Gerindra untuk SDM Indonesia Emas 2045

The government has kicked off the Nutritious Lunch Program (MBG) last Monday, (6/1/2025). The Chairman of the Gerindra Faction of the Indonesian House of Representatives, G. Budisatrio Djiwandono, commended the government’s swift work in realizing this flagship program in less than 100 working days.

Budisatrio’s Appreciation

“Fraksi Gerindra appreciates the government’s quick work in realizing one of the flagship programs promised during the campaign. The MBG program could run on the 79th day of the government, which is a good start and shows the government’s strong commitment,” said Budisatrio on Tuesday (7/1/2025).

According to the Vice Chairman of Gerindra, his faction will oversee the MBG program to ensure it runs in line with the vision projected by President Prabowo Subianto.

The Purpose of the Program

Budi highlighted that the goal behind this program is more than just providing food but also about ensuring quality nutrition and quality sustenance towards the vision of economic sustainability.

“The MBG program is an investment in human resources and future generations who are competitive and productive, to welcome Indonesia Emas 2045. Additionally, this program also has a mission of economic and social equality,” he stated.

Focus on Quality

“Therefore, it is important for this program to not only focus on quantity but also quality, such as paying attention to the caloric needs and nutritional composition for the beneficiaries,” Budisatrio added.

Budi reassured that they will continue to support the MBG program to always prioritize the supply of local raw materials and labor. This is in line with President Prabowo’s vision for economic equality and the development of local distribution networks.

Support from Local Businesses

“By involving local businesses, farmers, and fishermen, this program has the potential to create a sustainable economic ecosystem in various regions,” he mentioned.

As known, the Free Nutritious Meal program opens up opportunities for local businesses to collaborate as working partners. Based on data from the National Nutrition Agency, currently, 140 MSMEs have been involved in the supply chain of this program. This number is expected to continue to increase with the high interest from MSMEs, cooperatives, and BUMDes.

In conclusion, as a start, the BGN has empowered 190 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) or kitchens ready to serve the nutritional needs of children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers in 26 provinces in Indonesia. Each SPPG point is targeted to serve 3,000 to 4,000 beneficiaries daily.

The government through BGN targets 937 kitchens to gradually operate to serve 3 million beneficiaries by the end of January 2025. Additionally, BGN also aims for 2,000 kitchens to operate in April, 5,000 kitchens in July, and all kitchens or SPPGs to operate 100 percent by 2029.
