Smart Forestry and Microsatellite Development

Additionally, they talked about Special Purpose Forest Areas (KHDTK) specifically designated for research and forestry development.

Minister Raja Antoni expressed his thoughts on utilizing these technologies, stating, “We will try to see if this can help our data center, and if other technologies can be used for social forestry.” He emphasized the importance of engaging with various stakeholders, including academics, before implementing any policies. The inputs and suggestions gathered are crucial to refining the strategies and regulations put in place.

Complex Issues in Forestry

Dean of the Faculty of Forestry at IPB, Naresworo Nugroho, highlighted the complexity of forestry issues from upstream to downstream. Resolving these issues and ensuring the success of Indonesian forests would benefit the entire academic community. Increased interest from young people in forestry could also be a positive outcome.

Naresworo stated, “Forestry is indeed complex from upstream to downstream and requires collaboration from all parties. If forestry succeeds, it will benefit us at the faculty and increase the interest of the younger generation in forestry.” The collaboration between the Ministry and universities, as well as various stakeholders, plays a crucial role in shaping effective public policies.

Importance of Collaboration

During the audience, Minister Raja was accompanied by the Director General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation, Satyawan Pudyatmoko, and the Director General of Social Forestry, Mahfudz.
