**Panitera Pengganti PN Surabaya Siswanto Menolak Suap dari Lisa Rahmat**
In a recent court case involving the acquittal of Ronald Tannur, Siswanto, the Substitute Clerk of the Surabaya District Court, made a bold statement by refusing a bribe from lawyer Lisa Rahmat. The bribe, intended to sway the verdict in favor of Tannur, was handed over through the court’s security personnel, Sepyoni Nur Khalida.
**Refusing Corruption**
During a trial at the Corruption Court in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/1/2025), Siswanto, standing as a witness alongside three judges from the Surabaya District Court – Erintuah Damanik, Mangapul, and Heru Hanindyo – revealed that he rejected the bribe offered by Lisa through Sepyoni. The Prosecutor initially questioned Siswanto regarding any money received from Sepyoni related to the Tannur case. He recounted the encounter where Sepyoni intercepted him at the Surabaya Court gate, delivering Lisa’s bribe message.
“I was stopped by Yoni (Sepyoni) at the office gate, ‘Sir, please stop,’ she said. When asked why, she simply said, ‘Sir, there’s a gift from Mrs. Lisa’,” Siswanto shared the encounter.
**Standing Firm**
Despite the pressure, Siswanto stood his ground and refused the money without inquiring about the amount. He reiterated his swift rejection to the Prosecutor, emphasizing his moral stance against corruption. The Prosecutor probed further, asking, “You refused?” to which Siswanto replied firmly, “I refused.”
**Allegations of Corruption**
Prior to this incident, Siswanto was implicated in receiving kickbacks alongside former Surabaya District Court Chief Rudi Suparmono. It was alleged that Siswanto received a bribe of 10,000 Singapore Dollars while Rudi Suparmono received 20,000 Singapore Dollars in connection to the Tannur case. Harli Siregar, the Head of the Legal Information Center of the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office, confirmed that Lisa Rahmat funneled the money to Rudi Suparmono through Judge Erintuah Damanik.
In a time where corruption runs rampant, Siswanto’s unwavering integrity serves as a beacon of hope for justice and transparency in the legal system. His refusal to succumb to bribery sheds light on the importance of upholding ethical standards, even in the face of adversity. As citizens, we must applaud and support individuals like Siswanto who champion honesty and uphold the rule of law, ensuring a fair and just society for all.
Remember, the fight against corruption starts with each one of us. Let’s take a stand against unethical practices and strive for a better, more transparent future.
