**Pemerintah Dituduh Tanggung Jawab Pagar Laut 30 Km di Tangerang Banten**

TANGERANG – Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 has spoken out regarding the construction of a 30.16-kilometer sea barrier in the waters of Tangerang, Banten. The management of PIK 2, Toni, stated that the sea barrier was not built by them.

### Denial of Responsibility
Toni, while at PIK 2 in Tangerang, on Sunday (12/1/2025), said, “Yes, that is not from us. Our legal representatives will explain the details later.”

### Lack of Education and Misunderstanding
Toni explained that the current controversy surrounding the National Strategic Project (PSN) of PIK 2 is due to the lack of education among the public. “I think maybe it’s a lack of knowledge, a lack of education among some friends who are a little different. They seem to think that the entire PIK 2 is part of the PSN. But that’s not the case,” Toni said. He clarified that only a small part of the area in PIK 2 in North Tengerang is considered part of the PSN.

### Government Response and Environmental Concerns
Recently, a mysterious 30.16-kilometer sea barrier emerged in the waters of Tangerang, Banten. In response, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has halted the unauthorized sea barrier construction activities.

Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, directed that all sea space utilization activities without proper authorization and potentially harmful to biodiversity and ecosystem functions be stopped immediately. He emphasized that sea barrier construction must adhere to international practices outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982) to ensure ecological sustainability.

### Enforcement of Regulations
Director General of Marine and Fisheries Resources Surveillance, Pung Nugroho Saksono, who personally participated in the cessation action on Thursday (9/1/2024), stated that this action reflects KKP’s firm stance in responding to local fishermen’s complaints and upholding relevant regulations regarding marine spatial planning. “We are stopping the sea barrier construction activities while investigating who is responsible for this,” Ipung said.

By halting unauthorized sea barrier construction, the government aims to protect marine ecosystems, preserve fishing zones, and prevent further damage to coastal environments in Tangerang, Banten.
