PT KAI Executes 21 Land Acquisitions in Bandung After Legal Victory
In a recent turn of events, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 2 Bandung successfully executed 21 land acquisitions in Jalan Batu Api, Kota Bandung, on Thursday, January 16, 2025. This action followed their legal victory in the Bandung District Court. The execution of the land was carried out by the court-appointed executor in the presence of law enforcement authorities.
Challenges Faced During the Execution
Upon arriving at the location at 7:00 AM, Brimob police and TNI personnel were deployed to ensure the security of the land acquisition process. Some residents attempted to obstruct the execution by closing off Jalan Batu Api, causing inconvenience to passing two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. Despite these challenges, the executor, accompanied by police officers, proceeded with the execution at around 9:00 AM. While most residents complied with the decision, one resident interrupted the process, requesting a postponement due to personal reasons related to their business.
Resolution and Compliance
After the resident expressed their concerns, the land acquisition was carried out peacefully without any confrontations. The authorities systematically organized the land to be acquired as per the court’s ruling. Ayep Hanapi, the Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung, emphasized the company’s commitment to upholding the law and safeguarding national assets managed by PT KAI for the benefit of the public. The acquired land spans 3,535 square meters, with buildings covering an area of 2,149 square meters, contributing to a total area of 26,440 square meters.
Respecting Legal Processes
Hanapi clarified that the execution of the land acquisition was a lawful procedure following the final court judgment. Despite attempts to engage with the residents beforehand, no amicable resolution was reached due to lack of cooperation from the affected parties. This execution marked a significant step in PT KAI’s efforts to ensure the efficient use of state-managed assets for public service purposes.
