Safety Inspection of Cipularang Toll Road by Jasa Raharja and Korlantas Polri
The Cipularang toll road recently underwent a thorough safety inspection led by PT Jasa Raharja’s CEO, Rivan A. Purwantono, and the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) Director, Brigadier General Pol. Drs. Agus Suryonugroho. This inspection, involving various stakeholders, aimed to assess the road conditions, identify accident-prone areas, and develop strategies for improving both national and toll roads, as well as enhancing communication and education for road users.
Identifying Critical Areas
During the inspection, Korlantas Polri’s Agus Suryonugroho highlighted the importance of examining the entire stretch of the Cipularang toll road towards Bandung and Jakarta. The survey revealed potholes, areas in need of repair, ongoing construction sites, and other critical points that required attention. Specifically, locations like KM 92, KM 93, and KM 100 were identified as “black spots,” where numerous accidents occurred in the past year.
Agus emphasized the significance of areas between KM 93-96 due to their descending road contours and sharp turns, leading to slippery conditions during rainfall. He also pointed out the potential hazards posed by slight jumps on bridges, underscoring the need for user awareness and information dissemination to prevent accidents effectively.
Enhancing Road Safety Measures
Furthermore, Agus announced the upcoming Traffic Safety Operation 2025 scheduled for February 10-23, aiming to enhance traffic compliance and create a safer road environment nationwide. This operation seeks to optimize traffic flow during the upcoming holiday season, focusing on both outbound and inbound traffic to support smooth travel experiences for commuters during the festive period.
Jasa Raharja’s CEO, Rivan A. Purwantono, stressed the importance of educating the public to foster a culture of traffic discipline, citing the prevalence of road violations as a significant factor contributing to accidents. He underscored the critical role of education and awareness campaigns in promoting safe driving practices and reducing accident rates.
Representatives from Jasa Marga also highlighted various safety initiatives implemented along the Cipularang toll road. These efforts include safety campaigns at rest areas, particularly engaging truck and bus drivers at KM 88B. Additionally, the toll road now features three Emergency Lay-bys (Jalur Penyelamat Darurat) at KM 116, KM 92, and KM 91 heading towards Jakarta, offering a quick stop for vehicles in distress.
Through this comprehensive road survey, stakeholders aim to collaborate effectively in enhancing road safety measures, providing a safer and more comfortable travel experience for the public, especially with the upcoming Traffic Safety Operation 2025 on the horizon.
