Tragedy Strikes: Tangerang Car Rental Boss Shot Dead
In a tragic turn of events on Thursday, January 2, 2024, a car rental boss named Ilyas Abdurahman was shot and killed at Rest Area KM 45 on the Tangerang-Merak toll road towards Jakarta. The perpetrator, believed to have embezzled his car, pulled the trigger, leaving not only Ilyas but also another victim, Ramli Abu Bakar, injured from the gunfire.
Seeking Justice and Protection
Ramli Abu Bakar, a relative of the deceased, is currently receiving intensive care at the hospital for the gunshot wounds he sustained. Meanwhile, Anita, Ramli’s wife, shared that they are in the process of requesting assistance from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). The recommendation to seek LPSK’s support came from Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), where Ramli is being treated.
Anita disclosed, “We are covering the expenses from the family’s side, but the hospital advised us to seek assistance from LPSK. The paperwork is being processed, and we hope for a positive outcome soon.” The family is seeking LPSK’s guidance and support for various aspects related to the tragic incident.
LPSK’s Call for Action
Sri Suparyati, Deputy Chairperson of LPSK, emphasized the agency’s commitment to assisting the victims’ families. She urged the families to promptly submit their requests for support, stating, “LPSK is ready to receive applications from the families. Please proceed with your submissions.”
The shooting occurred as Ilyas Abdurahman and Ramli Abu Bakar were attempting to retrieve a red Honda Brio, allegedly misappropriated by the assailant, which belonged to Ilyas’s car rental business.
