TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, delivered a crucial message from President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, during a meeting with Malaysian Defense Minister Dato Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin at the Ministry of Defense Malaysia on Monday (20/1/2025).

During the meeting, Karo Infohan and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General TNI Frega Wenas, revealed that Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin brought a message stressing the importance of close collaboration to develop bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia as neighboring countries. Additionally, both countries agreed to formulate a comprehensive collaboration system in defense technology by leveraging their respective industrial potentials. This collaboration will also support joint decisions in the multilateral forum ADMM-Plus. Indonesia and Malaysia are also pushing for the development of ASEAN Defence Industry Collaboration as a strategic hub to realize structured and sustainable collaboration and strengthen regional cooperation ecosystems.

Before the meeting, Minister Sjafrie was greeted by the Malaysian Defense Minister with an honor guard ceremony, highlighting the commitment of both nations to strengthen defense cooperation through various strategic initiatives.
