**Free Nutritious Meal Program Reaches 3 Million Beneficiaries, Students Express Gratitude to President Prabowo**
The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG), launched on Monday (6/1/2025), is seen as the beginning of fulfilling the campaign promises of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. This initiative, aimed at addressing malnutrition and stunting issues, marks a significant milestone in Indonesia’s social policy history.
Historic Initiative for National Nutrition
At the onset of this program, Presidential Communication Head Hasan Nasbi highlighted that the MBG didn’t wait for 100 days but was realized on the 78th day of Prabowo Subianto’s presidency. Hasan stated, “This is a historic milestone for Indonesia, as it is the first time the country is implementing a national-scale nutrition fulfillment program for toddlers, school children, pregnant and lactating mothers.”
Since its launch, kitchens in 26 provinces have been serving nutritious meals to 3 million beneficiaries, including children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. The program operates under the coordination of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), with 190 kitchen points spread across various provinces. The goal is to increase the number of kitchens to 937 by the end of January 2025.
Each kitchen is closely supervised by the Head of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), nutrition experts, and accountants to ensure food quality and cleanliness in management.
Gratitude from Students
Several students have expressed their gratitude to President Prabowo through social media. In a viral TikTok post, high school students showcased their admiration for the nutritious meals they received through the program. They excitedly opened their stainless steel meal boxes, revealing chicken meat and various other dishes.
“Wenak lho Mba, this chicken looks delicious! Thank you so much, Mr. Prabowo,” the students exclaimed while flaunting the diverse menu they received. They also extended their well wishes to President Prabowo, “Long live, stay healthy Mr. Prabowo, Thank you!” accompanied by enthusiasm and respect.
The MBG program not only benefits students but also the broader community that previously struggled to access nutritious food.
