In a bid to alleviate the financial burden on consumers amidst challenging economic times, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has continued to offer a 50% discount on electricity tariffs until February 2025. The discount applies to both prepaid and postpaid customers, as announced on PLN’s official Instagram account.

“If there are still unused tokens from February 2025, they can still be utilized and will not expire,” the @plnmobile account stated. Additionally, tokens that have not been entered into the meter will remain valid and can be used in the following month.

However, PLN emphasized that electricity tokens do not have an expiration date but will become invalid if they are not utilized after 50 subsequent transactions. For instance, if a customer purchases a token today and does not input it into the meter for 50 more transactions, the token will expire.

The 50% discount was extended to households with power capacities of 450 VA, 900 VA, 1300 VA, and 2200 VA. PLN’s President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, explained that the discounted rate would be automatically applied for postpaid customers when paying their monthly bills. Meanwhile, prepaid customers would instantly receive the 50% discount when purchasing electricity tokens through various channels like PLN Mobile, retail outlets, agents, and other locations.
