Affordable Electric Cars Under Rp 500 Million Showcased at IIMS 2025
The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025 is currently underway until Sunday, February 23, 2025, at JIEXPO, Kemayoran, Jakarta. This event provides an opportunity for Jakarta residents and those in the surrounding areas to visit the exhibition over the next three days. At this grand automotive event in Indonesia, several automakers have brought forth fully electric vehicles at affordable prices, some even under Rp 500 million. Among the displays, five electric vehicle manufacturers are offering pure electric cars priced below Rp 500 million, with a strong presence from Chinese manufacturers.
Wuling New Air Ev
Wuling has presented two affordable electric vehicles, with the New Air EV starting at around Rp 184 million. This environmentally friendly vehicle features a compact body design that allows for easy maneuverability on the road, convenient parking, while still providing a spacious interior for comfortable solo or group rides. The New Air EV showcases minimal changes in terms of electrification from Wuling, but the manufacturer has introduced new color options like Starry Black to enhance its appeal.
Wuling New Cloud Ev
Another option for consumers looking to transition to electric vehicles is the New Cloud EV, which offers a larger body compared to the Air Ev, starting at Rp 365 million. The New Cloud EV comes in two new color options, Tungsten Steel Grey and Aurora Silver, adding to its premium and modern aesthetic. The interior is designed for maximum comfort with ergonomic seats and a spacious cabin to ensure a comfortable journey akin to being at home.
VinFast VF3
VinFast, a Vietnamese brand, has introduced an electric vehicle at a competitive price point for the Indonesian automotive market with the VinFast VF3 priced at around Rp 227 million. This electric vehicle boasts dimensions of 3.2 meters in length, 1.7 meters in width, and 1.6 meters in height, with a ground clearance of 175 mm and a turning radius of four meters. In terms of range, the vehicle can travel up to 215 km, with its electric motor generating up to 40 hp and 110Nm of torque.
