Barcelona currently has 82 points from 35 matches, four points ahead of Real Madrid, who have played one more game. A victory over Espanyol will see Barcelona accumulate 85 points.
The Race for the Title
With this tally, Real Madrid will not be able to catch up, as they can only reach a maximum of 84 points mathematically by sweeping the remaining games. The players of Barcelona may be in line for bonuses with the championship in sight.
