### Decrease in Passenger Numbers
During the holiday season, including popular routes like Merak – Bakauheni, Ketapang – Gilimanuk, and Ajibata – Ambarita, there was a notable decline in the number of passengers. The total number of passengers during the 2025 holiday season reached 2,177,327, a significant drop of 12% compared to 2,460,903 passengers in the 2024 holiday season.

### Vehicle Statistics
The decrease was also evident in the number of two-wheeled vehicles, with 137,532 units recorded, down 19% from 170,720 units. Overall, ASDP served a total of 537,148 vehicles during the 2025 holiday season, down 13% from 617,216 units in 2024.

### Reason for Decline
Corporate Secretary ASDP Shelvy Arifin attributed the decrease to a shift in people’s travel patterns, prioritizing time efficiency and alternative modes of transportation. Despite the decline, ASDP noted an increase in the number of ships from 116 units in 2024 to 127 units in 2025, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring smooth ferry transportation during peak holiday periods.

In a statement, Shelvy emphasized the company’s dedication to supporting the community’s mobility and logistics during extended holiday periods. The increase in total trips on national routes, from 12,353 journeys in 2024 to 13,288 in 2025, further showcased ASDP’s readiness to facilitate travel and logistics during busy holiday seasons. Additionally, there was a positive trend in the logistics segment, particularly in truck transportation, which saw a 2% increase to 159,606 units in 2025 compared to 156,204 units in the previous period.

As we reflect on these statistics, it’s essential to consider the evolving landscape of travel preferences and the impact of external factors on our holiday traditions. Despite the decline in passenger numbers, the dedication of companies like ASDP to enhancing transportation services remains unwavering, ensuring a seamless travel experience for all. Let’s continue to adapt and prioritize safety and efficiency in our travel choices, especially during the holiday season, to create memorable and stress-free journeys for ourselves and our loved ones.
