KCIC Boosts Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train Schedules
In a bid to cater to the growing demand for fast and efficient transportation, PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has announced an increase in the number of regular trips for the high-speed train Whoosh. Starting from February 1, 2025, the daily trips will jump from the current 48 to 62, offering passengers more flexibility and convenience in their travel plans.
Meeting Growing Demand
General Manager Corporate Secretary of KCIC, Eva Chairunisa, highlighted that this decision was a response to the continuous rise in the number of Whoosh passengers. Eva emphasized that this expansion in schedules demonstrates KCIC’s commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and flexible transportation services to the public. Since its commercial launch in October 2023, Whoosh has already served over 7.5 million passengers, showcasing its popularity among the masses.
Continuous Growth
From the initial 14 daily trips at its launch, Whoosh gradually increased its services to 28 trips in November 2023, 40 trips in December 2023, and eventually reaching 48 trips per day by May 2024. The upcoming addition of more trips to 62 per day in February 2025 is a testament to the high demand for high-speed rail travel in the Jakarta-Bandung corridor.
Enhancing Passenger Experience
As KCIC finalizes the scheduling system for the new routes, Eva encouraged the public to stay tuned for official announcements regarding ticket sales and departure times for Whoosh journeys starting February 1, 2025. This expansion aims to further streamline the utilization of Whoosh services, meeting the increasing transportation needs of the growing number of passengers.
In conclusion, KCIC’s decision to enhance the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train schedules reflects a strategic move to accommodate the rising demand for efficient and reliable transportation options. With the upcoming increase in daily trips, passengers can look forward to a more convenient and accessible travel experience on the popular Whoosh train.
