Rudi was shot by an unknown person at his wife’s house on Tuesday (31/12/2024) while preparing to celebrate the New Year’s Eve in Bone, South Sulawesi.
Today, Monday (6/1/2025) marks the sixth day since the victim’s death, yet the shooter has not been apprehended.
The police have formed a special team and promised to solve this case.
“We have formed a special team consisting of the joint Resmob of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Resmob of Bone Police and the local police station working around the clock. The team is currently conducting a thorough investigation and we promise to solve this case completely,” said AKBP Erwin Syah, the Police Chief of Bone as quoted by Kompas.com on Monday.
**Expert Calls for Urgent Action**
Meanwhile, a senior lawyer and member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi), Farid Mamma, expressed his outrage over Rudi’s shooting.
He challenged the Chief of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Irjen Yudhiawan Wibisono, to immediately arrest Rudi’s shooter.
“We challenge the police to capture the perpetrator within two weeks.”
“If the police fail to apprehend the perpetrator within that timeframe, I’m sorry, but the police are not being professional,” Farid said as reported by TribunTimur.com.
Farid even threatened to bring this case to the National Police Headquarters if there is no progress within two weeks.

This shooting, he added, is a slap in the face for the police chief.

“If the perpetrator is not captured, we, as lawyers, are also worried,” he stated.
