BELITUNG – A member of the Indonesian Army (TNI AD), Sergeant Hendri, has become a wanted man in Belitung after being involved in a shooting incident targeting Subdenpom Persiapan Belitung personnel, Sergeant Rendi, who managed to evade capture at a hiding place.
The incident began with the shooting of Subdenpom Persiapan Belitung personnel, Sergeant Rendi, on Monday, January 13, 2025, by deserter TNI AD, Sergeant Hendri. Following this, Sergeant Hendri took refuge in a house located on Jalan Anwar Aid, Kelurahan Kampung Parit, Kabupaten Belitung on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
Before the joint task force personnel arrived, the presence of dozens of them caused a stir among the locals. The joint task force surrounded the house which was reportedly Hendri’s hiding place. When he did not come out, the joint task force opened fire on the house in the afternoon, with the sound of gunfire echoing loudly.
After the gunfire ceased, the joint task force attempted to enter the house to apprehend Sergeant Hendri, only to find that he was no longer inside. It is suspected that he had already fled beforehand.
