TRIBUNNEWS.COM, BALI – A heartbreaking discovery shook the community as the lifeless body of a baby boy was found floating in the Pemelisan River in Banjar Suwung Batan Kendal, Sesetan, South Denpasar, Bali.
The tragic incident took place on Sunday, January 5, 2025, around 5:00 PM local time. Witness I Ketut Darma Yoga, 42, described seeing what appeared to be a baby’s body in the Pemelisan River. After investigating the area about 100 meters away, he used bamboo to confirm the presence of a baby floating among the trash behind a boat.
Following the grim discovery, Ketut Darma retrieved the baby’s body, wrapped it in a white cloth, and reported it to the police. The authorities then proceeded to follow the necessary procedures for such a circumstance.

According to AKP I Ketut Sukadi, the Head of Public Relations of the Denpasar Police, there is suspicion that the baby may have been intentionally killed by a parent. The baby’s body, with swollen nose and left eye, was believed to have been disposed of less than 24 hours prior, as there was no foul odor emanating from it.
