Megawati Soekarnoputri, Ketua Umum Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP), recently attended the briefing for the Heads/Vice Heads of Regions from PDIP all over Indonesia who emerged victorious in the 2024 Regional Head Elections. The event took place at the PDIP Party School in Lenteng Agung, Jakarta from Friday to Sunday, 16-18 May 2025. The aim of the briefing was to strengthen consolidation and commitment to governing in a manner that prioritizes the interests of the people in their respective regions. Hundreds of PDIP regional heads attended the event, alongside officials from the PDIP Central Executive Board.

Ganjar Pranowo, the DPP PDI Perjuangan Chairman, addressed the absence of DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo at the closed guidance session for PDIP regional heads at the Party School in South Jakarta. Ganjar mentioned that Pramono might attend the following day as the guidance session was scheduled to last three days until Sunday, the 18th of May 2025. “Maybe Mr. Pram will be here on another day,” Ganjar expressed when approached by the media at the PDIP Party School on Friday, the 16th of May 2025. The former Governor of Central Java noted that not all PDIP regional heads were called to the Party School. Some regional heads from other areas also had permission not to participate in the activities that day.

In a previous statement, Ganjar shared the message from PDIP General Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri during the closed guidance session for PDIP regional heads. Megawati reminded PDIP regional heads to uphold the party’s ideology. “We must start from the platform of the same party ideology values,” Ganjar added. Furthermore, Megawati urged PDIP regional heads to fulfill their party functions. She also requested them to deliver on their political promises made during the 2024 Regional Head Election campaigns. “Of course, this service process will later produce innovations that can be shared. Therefore, among these regional heads, especially those from PDI Perjuangan, there will be a forum on how to make improvements to the entire existing system. That’s what Mother (Megawati) is concerned about,” he stated.
