So, like, this dude named Iwan Setiawan Lukminto (IS), who is the boss of PT Sritex, got nabbed by the Kejaksaan Agung on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. His legal status is still up in the air, waiting for the investigation team to figure out what’s up. The head honcho at the Kejaksaan Agung, Harli Siregar, spilled the beans that IS is currently under the microscope of the Jaksa Agung Muda Tindak Pidana Khusus (Jampidsus) investigation team.
Harli was all like, “We gotta wait and see what the investigators decide. IS is still being grilled intensely as a witness by the investigators.” The investigation team, according to Harli, still has some time to come up with the investigation results to determine IS’s legal status. “We’re just waiting on the investigators. Right now, they’re deep in the interrogation process,” Harli mentioned. He explained that IS has been playing the role of a witness, summoned by the investigation team for questioning and statements. This legal process is linked to the investigation carried out by Jampidsus regarding alleged corruption in the provision of credit facilities to PT Sritex by several government-owned banks. The investigation into the case has been ongoing at Jampidsus since late 2024.
The investigators have had a tough time trying to get a hold of IS for questioning due to various reasons. Despite the challenges, the investigation at Jampidsus has been keeping a close eye on IS’s whereabouts. It was revealed by Harli on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, that the investigators found some suspicious activities regarding IS’s location, who was under surveillance. “The Jampidsus investigators have been monitoring the individual for a while now and have detected some communication devices. It was indicated last night that the individual’s communication device was detected in several locations,” Harli stated. Concerned that IS might escape, the investigators finally caught him in Solo, Central Java. Harli explained, “That’s why the team tracked down the individual and successfully apprehended him at his address in Solo last night. He was then brought to the Kejaksaan Agung for questioning. The investigation team had to be proactive because there was a fear that the individual might flee.”
So yeah, last week, Jampidsus was all about investigating the alleged corruption related to PT Sritex. They were focused on looking into possible irregularities in the credit facilities provided by government-owned banks to PT Sritex. PT Sritex is a textile company based in Sukoharjo, Central Java, and is the largest textile corporation in Indonesia. The company, which has been operating since 1966, was declared bankrupt through a commercial court decision on October 21, 2024. This led to the termination of employment for at least 11,000 workers. On March 1, 2025, after 59 years of operation, the company permanently closed its doors. Before announcing the closure, the curators from PT Sritex disclosed a total debt of Rp 29.8 trillion as of January 2025, involving 1,654 creditors. However, it was stated that PT Sritex only had a debt of Rp 4.2 trillion. The debt breakdown included Rp 2.9 trillion to Bank BNI, Rp 611 billion to the West Java and Banten Regional Development Bank, Rp 185 million to Bank DKI, and Rp 502 billion to the Central Java Regional Development Bank.
